Cervical spine Spasm

Cervical spine spasm, also known as a stiff neck, is a condition that occurs when the muscles in the neck become tight and painful. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor posture, overuse of the neck muscles, injury, or underlying medical conditions.

Self-care measures may include applying heat or ice to the affected area, performing gentle stretches and exercises to improve range of motion, and taking over-the-counter pain medications.

Lumbar spine Spasm

Lumbar spine spasm, also known as a lower back spasm, is a condition that occurs when the muscles in the lower back become tight and painful. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor posture, overuse of the lower back muscles, injury, or underlying medical conditions.

Prevention of lumbar spine spasm may include practicing good posture, taking regular breaks from activities that require prolonged lower back use, and incorporating stretching and strengthening exercises into your routine.

Herniated disk

A herniated disk, also known as a slipped or ruptured disk, is a condition that occurs when the soft cushion-like material between the vertebrae of the spine ruptures or bulges out of place. This can cause pressure on nearby nerves, resulting in pain, numbness, or weakness in the affected area.

Herniated disks can occur in any part of the spine, but they are most common in the lower back and neck. Common causes of herniated disks include age-related degeneration of the disks, injury, or repetitive strain.

Spinal stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a condition that occurs when the spaces within the spine narrow, putting pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including age-related degeneration, injury, or underlying medical conditions.

Medical treatment may include prescription pain medications, muscle relaxants, physical therapy, and in some cases, injections or surgery. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to remove the structures putting pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.

Spinal instability

Spinal instability is a condition that occurs when there is excessive movement between two or more vertebrae in the spine. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including injury, degenerative changes, or underlying medical conditions.

If you are experiencing symptoms of spinal instability, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment. In some cases, spinal instability may require immediate medical attention to prevent further damage to the spine and surrounding nerves.

Spondylolisthesis

Spondylolisthesis is a spinal condition that occurs when one vertebra in the spine slips out of place and onto the vertebra below it. This can put pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, causing a variety of symptoms.

Spondylolisthesis can be caused by a number of factors, including:

  • Congenital abnormalities in the spine
  • Degenerative changes in the spine due to aging
  • Trauma or injury to the spine
  • Repetitive stress on the spine, such as from sports or heavy lifting
  • Certain medical conditions, such as arthritis or osteoporosis

I visited oyster clinic for neck pain radiating to my shoulder, hand and was referred to the physiotherapy department for pain management and recovery. Dr. Lipsa, the attending physiotherapist, after reviewing my case and listening to my issues, quickly understood and explained her approach. I had 5 sessions + 1 follow up and I felt the difference right after the first 2 sessions. She also makes sure there is progress at regular intervals and adjusts therapy pragmatically. In addition to therapy she prescribed a few simple exercises and lifestyle adjustments to prevent future cases. She was quite helpful with all queries I had. Overall I was happy I was under the care of Dr. Lipsa and confidently refer anyone looking for an effective and highly professional physiotherapist.

Big plus point is that , Dr. has her scanning equipment and during scanning she spend enough time at each patient. She never leave in between if scanning details are not clear. Attempt multiple times. I personally recommend Dr.Dharani madam.
